Canada's oldest wheelchair curler joins the Capitol WCC in Ottawa

Cliff Chadderton at the Capital WCC Feb 20, 2011

Ottawa's Capital Wheelchair Curling Club has welcomed Cliff Chadderton, CEO of War Amps, to its membership. Cliff, who will be 92 in May, was an enthusiastic and quick learner, soon able to throw normal rocks the full length of the ice with some consistency.

Chadderton lost his right leg below the knee in 1944 while in command of a company of the Royal Winnipeg Rifles, battling for the Scheldt Estuary in Belgium and Holland during the Second World War. You can read his background HERE.

He has said he would like to do a documentary on wheelchair curling to motivate and encourage others to take up the sport. He certainly sets a great example.
